About the event

Eco-Spirituality Gathering

Sunday, June 30, 4 pm, RFS

Led by Rev. Dr. Andi Lloyd

Please join us as we continue our exploration of the book, ALL WE CAN SAVE (Truth, Courage, and Solutions for the Climate Crisis), edited by Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and Katharine K. Wilkinson. More than a thousand people have participated in the All We Can Save book study circles which have helped many to courageously face the crisis and become part of the solution.

For our June 30th gathering, please read several of the articles in the Advocate section (page 31-102) which range from one to several pages. If you have time to read the whole section, please do – but if not, just choose one or two essays/poems that speak to you. The audio of one article will be played at the session, which will provide a common prompt for discussion. The theme of this section is empowerment and finding one's role in responding to the crisis. The community conversation will take place in the Reversing Falls Sanctuary (818 Bagaduce Rd.)

Andi is co-author of the book, Letters from the Ecotone: Ecology, Theology and Climate Change. She received a PhD in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Arizona and a M. Div. from Yale Divinity School. Rev. Dr. Andrea Lloyd is currently the pastor of the Trinitarian Congregational Parish of Castine. In her work as an ecologist, she studied the effects of climate change on forests in Alaska and Siberia.

The book is available from Blue Hill Books.
